Sabina Mihelj is Professor of Media and Cultural Analysis at Loughborough University.

Her current work investigates the role of media in contemporary ‘culture wars’, driven by the rise of illiberalism and populism. Her research has been funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Economic and Social Research Council, the British Academy, the Leverhulme Trust, the Norwegian Research Council, and the Ministry of Science and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia. Her most recent book is: Mihelj, S and Huxtable, S (2018) From Media Systems to Media Cultures: Understanding Socialist Television, Cambridge University Press. She is now leading a large ESRC grant project called 'Pandemic Communication in times of Populism'. Sabina tweets at @SMihelj
